BCP Through The Ages

The first production of the Bedford Players took place in 1982, when five members of the community came together with Bedford Community Education to produce the musical Li’l Abner.

John and Dottie Zimmerman, Gayle Phebus, Dave Frechette, and Deb Brescol became the founding members of what would grow into a lasting community theatre tradition. The organization was later renamed Bedford Community Players (BCP) to better reflect its commitment to bringing theatre to Bedford Township and the surrounding communities.

For more than forty years, BCP has continued to grow, welcoming new members, performers, volunteers, and audiences while creating opportunities for the community to experience and participate in live theatre. As we look toward the future, Bedford Community Players remains committed to building on this proud history and bringing quality, accessible live theatre to the Bedford community for generations to come.
